F.A.Q.'s about Our Organizing Process

What does the initial consultation entail?

I'd like to hear about your pain points. We discuss your goals, challenges, budget & preferences. In this phone/video call, together we can determine whether our services are right for you.

What happens after the initial consulation?

We schedule your first organizing session. I send you a contract to sign & collect your session deposit or package prepayment to reserve your date(s) on the calendar.

How does "decluttering" work during the sessions?

We prefer to work together in the beginning - determining  "keep, donate or toss" for each item. We get to know you and your vision for your home (or help you to create a vision!) We will help (not force) you to let go of items which no longer serve you. This can be mentally & emotionally taxing, but we will help you through it.

What happens to my unwanted items?

If you have a preferred local charity, we will drop off your donations there. Click HERE for a list of local options in Oconee County.

Is there anything I should do before you arrive?

Sure. It will be helpful to have some extra trash bags on hand. If we'll be working in a space with clothing, try to have as much as possible clean and ready to go through. Don't worry about folding or hanging. We will do that for you. But in general, seeing your space "as-is" can be helpful in revealing your trouble areas.

Do I need to work with you the whole time?

Nope. If you don't want to be involved, we can do it all for you. But it really is best to work together in the beginning, so you can tell us what is important to you and we can learn how life flows for you at home. After the decluttering stage, we will get to work developing systems and zones to find the perfect home for each item. You can do other things if you'd like to. But we will still give you a "tour" of your newly organized spaces and give you tips on how to maintain the new system.

What about containers & supplies?

Containers can make a huge difference in staying organized. Depending on your preference, we will provide a suggested product purchasing list, or we will come prepared with popular go-to products we have in inventory. When possible, if you desire, we will use supplies you already own.

Do you provide labeling?

Yes! We provide either typed or hand-scripted labels, as desired, to make ongoing maintenance easier for you.

Can I call you if I have problems?

Of course! We're available for ongoing text/phone support during the project, often over multiple sessions. And we will follow up with you within the first few weeks after project completion to make sure everything is working for you.
